Important: Card Issuer Transition (DKB → Deutsche Bank)
Miles & More credit cards have transitioned from DKB to Deutsche Bank (October 2025). If you have an existing DKB M&M card, you must apply for the new Deutsche Bank card:
- Deadline for cards WITH frequent flyer status: February 28, 2026
- Deadline for cards WITHOUT status: April 30, 2026
- Switch bonus (until Feb 15, 2026): Gold Card: 5,000 miles
No automatic transfer occurs - you must actively apply for the new card. New benefits include Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite status, Apple/Google Pay support, and Flexiroam data packages.
The main benefit of the Gold card over the Blue card is its travel insurance package. However, if you already have a premium American Express card (like the Gold or Platinum), you likely have similar or better insurance coverage. In that case, the Blue card might be a more cost-effective choice for simply protecting your miles from expiring.
